Where that strange profile picture came from?
Your automatic profile picture was created by using a publicly available Avatar creation software program.
The software converts your name into a sequence of numbers, and then creates the Avatar based on that number. This way (nearly) everyone with a different name gets a unique Avatar.
If your automatically created Avatar seems to represent gender that is different from yours, your perception is probably correct. The software does not identify your gender. Also, everything else about the picture may differ from you. In other words, the outcome from the software is quite random with all respects, such as gender, skin color, hair color, hairstyle, race, age, clothing and aesthetics, because it is based only on the previously mentioned number.
If you are not happy with the Avatar that was automatically created, you may add a picture of your own, just click the Change picture from the User dropdown menu.
